Laciva
My name is Laciva. I am the
daughter of Akasha, the Mother of all vampires.
To me, she was a beautiful woman. To others,
she was a monster. She fed off the blood
of the humans. She rampaged the world, trying
to retake her throne. Sadly, she died.
I will take her place. I will continue where
she left off. And now, here's my story.
I remember, vaguely, the night
Lestat came to see her. He was walking up
to her statue. I was a statue also. I was
standing a little to the left of my mother,
cloaked in shadows. My mother's arm rose
and he bit it, partaking in her rich blood,
which flows through my veins. After he was
done, he glimpsed me. I gazed at him, considering
we were
living
statues, my mother, my father and I. Lestat
slowly crept over to me. I heard him whisper.
"My gosh. She's beautiful.
She looks just like Akasha." Of course
I did. I had my mother's long, raven hair,
slender body, and deadly long nails. My
eyes weren't green like hers, they were silver.
I slowly raised my right arm and placed my
hand on his cheek. I felt him grab my hand
and hold it. He rubbed my fingers and kissed
my hand. How gentlemanly. Then, he departed,
after hearing his master call to him.
After that night, I remained
a statue. My mother and I had a telepathic
link. I could see and hear everything that
was going on. The link was severed after
she died. I cried, tears streaming down
my rigid cheeks. After I mourned, I decided
to wake up. I felt myself get softer as
the hard stone began to turn into my skin.
I became real again. I slightly stretched,
hearing my bones crack. I looked down at
myself and realized I was wearing a long,
sheer, black wrap. I walked over to my father
and gazed into his twisted face. I smirked
at him. Then, like a spear, my hand pierced
his stomach. I heard him scream. I laughed
as I brought out my hand. Thick, dark red
blood coated my hand. I licked the blood
off.
I stared at my father's bleeding
stomach and leaned over to lick it. Then,
I went off on him. I started tearing into
him, my long nails digging and clawing every
which way. After I finished, there was nothing
left of him. There was just a bloody mess
dripping from his throne. Happily, I walked
to the back, into my mother's room. A huge,
full-length mirror was against one wall.
I glanced around the room. A giant bed was
on the other side of the room. The blankets
were a deep emerald green. I slid over and
touched them. They were soft and velvety.
It felt good. I saw a large chest in front
of the bed. There was an intricate lock
on it. Slicing it off with my nails, I opened
it. My mother's clothes lay within. I sifted
through them and finally picked out something.
I picked out a silver top with
circles dangling from it. It was made from
metal. I found a long silver skirt to match
it. I ripped off the wrap and slipped into
my clothes. The metal was cool and comfortable.
My hair was down and I wore a black, shiny
headdress. I took off the headdress and
placed it ontop of the mirror. I saw a dresser
near it. There was an array of headdresses
on it. Spying a sparkly silver one, I tried
it on. It had a dangly piece hanging from
it that went into the middle of my golden
forehead.
I took it off and it floated
in the air beside me. I decided to style
my hair. Quickly, I plaited several parts
of my waist length hair and pulled them into
a tight bun at the back of my head. I left
the rest of my hair down. Plucking the headdress
from the air, I gently placed it on my head.
After all that primping and dressing, I floated
to the doorway. I turned into black smoke.
As the smoke, I floated up through tiny cracks
in the ceiling. I hovered over the floor.
The room I was in appeared to be Lestat's
room. I left his room and slithered down
the stairs. My being filled the whole stairway.
I finally saw a large opening. It was a
room. I saw Lestat and his master sitting
in it. They were looking at a crackling
fire. At the bottom of the stairs, I turned
back into myself. With silent footsteps,
I crept slowly up to them. They were unsuspecting
of me.
Getting behind Lestat, I started
to play with his hair. His hair was soft
like rose petals. His master saw me. He
gasped.
"Lestat! Behind you!"
Before Lestat could turn around, I sliced
his master's face. Blood dripped profusely.
I put my hand to his face and it started
to sizzle. He screeched in agony as his
face burned away. Finally, I chopped his
head off with my hand. It landed on the
floor. I stared at his head and body and
they burst into flames. I smirked. Lestat
stood up and turned around.
"Remember me, Lestat?"
I asked softly. I smiled at him. He returned
the smile.
"Yes Laciva. You're so
beautiful." He answered, leaning forward
to kiss me. I put my hand up, stopping him.
"You killed my mother."
I said gruffly.
"No! I didn't--"
"Yes you did Lestat! You
drained most of her power. You shall die
like she did!" I shrieked at him. I
lashed out and bit him. I scratched and
clawed at him. He flew up in the air. I
rose, too, my arms spread out. He lunged
at me and bit my neck. I threw him off.
Stretching my arm, I put my hand up. With
my power, I pulled his heart out. It flew
into my hand. It was still beating. Lestat
started to fall, slowly. I floated towards
him, taking him in my arms. I cradled him
as he breathed shallowly. We floated towards
the floor.
I knelt on the floor, his head
in my lap. I still held his beating heart.
He whispered something.
"Laciva. Why?" He
managed to get out.
"Because. You killed my
mother." I answered harshly.
"I…..love…..you." He
hissed, then he died. His heart was still
beating. I squeezed it until it burst.
Blood dripped down my hand. Lapping most
of it up, I wiped the rest on his lips.
It seeped into his mouth. I leaned over
and kissed him.
"Goodbye my sweet."
I whispered, getting up. I started to walk
away. I looked back at the damage I'd done.
An evil smile crept along my face. For you
mother. I walked away, my neck wound healing
rapidly. I departed the castle and stood
on the edge of the cliff. I looked back
at the castle. I glared at it, and with
my mind, I made it implode. I turned back
around and transformed into black smoke.
Floating in the air, I hovered a little and
took off. Where was I headed? I don’t know.
I'll find someplace.
As I floated along, I spotted
a city full of lights. It was magnificent.
I suddenly heard a noise. It sounded like
music. I love that sound. I flew over to
a building that was dark and looming. That
was the source of the music. I found a vent
shaft and went into it. I slowly made my
way through the shaft, finally seeing soft
lights coming through slits. I slowly slid
through the slits, looking like deadly black
smoke. A lot of people were gyrating and
writhing to the music. Dancing. That's
what they were doing.
I finally drifted into the crowd, reforming
back into myself. The people gasped and
slowly moved away from me. I stood there
in the middle of the floor, looking about
at the awed faces. I started to dance to
the music. I writhed and threw my arms into
the air. I feel free. I spotted a tall,
handsome man. Lowering my arms, I waved
my hands in his direction, beckoning towards
him.
Cautiously, he shuffled towards me. His
dark skin shined in the light. He came up
behind me. Encircling my waist, we danced
together. I turned around and grabbed his
neck. I didn't choke him. I just tenderly
held his neck.
"What's your name?" I asked him,
staring deep into his dark brown eyes.
"Jerome. What's yours?" He answered,
his hands pulling me closer.
"Laciva."
"Pretty name for a pretty woman."
He breathed. I planted a big kiss on him.
My essence flowed into him. He broke off
and shoved me away. He must be startled
from my image I placed in his mind.
"Who are you?" He shouted at me.
I floated towards him and grabbed his face.
"I'm a vampire, Jerome!" And with
that, I heard a screech come from the crowd.
I turned and saw a girl with a gold dress
come tearing from the crowd. She was mad.
"Who do you think you are? Tryin' to
come up in here and take my man!" She
yelled, putting her finger in my face. I
bit it off and spit it back at her. She
screamed as she cradled her finger.
"NEVER PUT YOUR FINGER IN MY FACE AGAIN!!"
I boomed, hissing at the crowd. My fangs
were out and ready for anybody. People started
swarming me. But, they flew away. I used
my power. Then, the people burst into flames.
I grabbed Jerome before he could catch on
fire. He looked at me once then fainted.
I enveloped us both in my black smoke.
We flew back through the vent and out into
the city. I flew for some time.
After a few hours of flying, I finally spotted
a green area. Trees. Lots of them. I flew
close to the trees and peered through. A
huge house stood there. It was like a mansion.
It
was
a mansion. I floated down toward it. Lights
were on. People lived there. Hum. I'll
get rid of them. I flowed through a vent
outside of the house and arrived in a bedroom.
No people there. I materialized beside the
bed, laying Jerome on it. I slowly crept
to the door, looking around the hallway.
Nice place. Well furnished. The house was
of a dark cherry wood color. How quaint.
I slid down the hall, searching for the people.
I stopped at some steps. I heard loud voices.
I floated down the steps and saw two people.
They were arguing. I walked up to them.
"Please, please. Stop this at once."
I spoke softly. The curly-headed woman looked
at me.
"Who are you?" She asked bitingly.
"Your worst nightmare." I answered,
baring my fangs. I lunged at them. They
shrieked as I came down on them. I bit them
in several places, blood spilling everywhere.
I stood up, looking at the damage. I blew
a white smoke over the bodies, preserving
them for Jerome. I slithered back up the
stairs and into the bedroom. Jerome still
lay there. I crept up and touched his forehead.
He stirred, then woke up.
"Aah! Where am I?" He asked, startled.
"We're in a mansion. I found it."
I answered, stepping back. I walked to the
window and looked out. The night was turning
to day. I saw the orange sun slowly creeping
up. It didn't bother me. Not one bit.
I heard Jerome get up. I pivoted on one
foot and saw him coming closer to me. He
looked down at me.
"Were, were you the one at the club?
You, you set those people on fire."
He stammered.
"Yes I was. Do you believe me when
I say I'm a vampire?" I asked, getting
closer to him. He looked uncomfortable,
but that subsided. He shook his head no.
"What about the image I placed in your
mind?" I questioned, grabbing his head
softly. With that, I flung him to the floor
and got on top of him. He squirmed under
me. I turned his head, revealing his smooth
neck. A smile crept along my face. I bared
my teeth, my fangs coming down. Like lightning,
I rapidly sunk my teeth into his flesh.
He squirmed a little, then stopped. I sucked
a lot of his blood, then I stopped. I started
putting more of my essence into him.
After a few minutes, I let up and got off
him, licking my bloody lips. Jerome was
knocked out. Using my power, I floated him
to the bed. Leaving him to rest, I explored
the house. I roamed the halls and all the
rooms. This place was dark and dank. I
love it. I spotted a large door. Gliding
toward it, I raised my arms and opened it
with my power. The room was huge. It was
some sort of ballroom. The floor was beautiful.
It was a mosaic. The tiles tickled my bare
feet. The walls and ceiling were painted.
The walls depicted a battle going on. A
battle between humans and vampires. Interesting.
I floated towards one wall. I saw my mother
at the top. Her arms were outstretched from
her sides. My gaze went down the wall.
Her skirt billowed out and branched off into
her children. Her deadly offspring.
I flew upwards, to the ceiling. I saw more
humans trying to fight us. Stupid humans.
I touched ground and returned to my mother.
As I gazed lovingly at her, a big white spot
caught my eye. I flew towards it and stared
at it. A missing piece. I wonder what it
could be. I saw another portrait of my mother
just above it, she was fighting off some
of her children. My evil brothers and sisters
betrayed her. I'm glad they're gone. Just
then, I felt a presence. It was Jerome.
I swung around and saw him standing at the
door. He was staring at me. I smiled and
he returned it. He glided towards me.
"This feels wonderful." He said,
grabbing me in a hug. I grasped him just
as tight, laying my head on his chest.
"I know, my love. This
is
a beautiful feeling indeed. So much power."
I told him, raising my head and looking into
his eyes. I could sense he was in love with
me. He lightly kissed me. I pulled him
away.
"Come, Jerome. I saved some food for
you." I said, beckoning for him to follow
me. We walked down the hall and glided down
the stairs. The people were still there.
I sucked off the smoke I blew on them.
"Now my darling. Eat." I ordered
him, raising my arm in their direction.
Jerome shuffled over to them, hovering.
Then, attacked them, biting all over. I
saw their rich blood starting to pool. I
felt my fangs slowly coming down. No. Suppress
it, Laciva. Let him have them. He needs
the blood. After a while, he stopped and
stood up. Blood dripped down his chin.
I was drawn to him like a magnet. I kissed
him hungrily, lapping the blood up. I laid
his head on my shoulder.
"Bite me Jerome. Take of my blood.
Get my power." I told him, feeling his
fangs pierce my neck. I gasped lightly.
I felt some of my power go into him. He
let up and stood back. He gazed at me.
I saw the power in his eyes. His eyes were
coal black, but they started to lighten.
The power flowed within them. He smiled.
"Now I see Laciva. You
are
a vampire. I'm one, too. I see that vampires
hate sunlight. But not you. You're special."
He said, walking over to a window. It was
now daylight. Sunbeams cascaded through
the window. He walked through the rays,
laughing.
"Ahaaaaa!! This is wonderful! I feel
the power coursing through my veins!"
He shouted, lifting his arms. He walked
over to the bodies and raised his hand.
I saw the bodies burst into flames. Yes!
Now we can wreak havoc together! I came
up beside him and took his arm.
"Come my dear. Get out of those clothes
and into some new ones. I shall change,
too." I said, pulling him upstairs.
We went into the bathroom and looked it over.
It was huge. The whole bathroom was marble.
The bathtub was large and rectangular. I
turned on the faucet with my mind. Jerome
walked over to it and began to undress.
I stripped off my clothes, also. I removed
my crown and floated it to the sink.
As soon as the water filled up to the brim,
I turned off the water. We slowly slid into
the warm water. I began to wash myself.
I felt a soft sponge on my back. It felt
lovely. I did the same to him. After we
took a bath, we got out and walked back to
the bedroom. The water soaked into our skin.
We walked into the room and looked in the
drawers, searching for clothing. Jerome
found a pair of black jeans, a black T-shirt,
and black socks. He put on some underwear
and the clothes.
Tearing open the closet door, he searched
for some shoes. He threw shoes out and found
a pair of black tennis shoes. Slipping them
on, he looked himself over. He walked over
to the dresser mirror and looked at himself.
But, he saw nothing. He got angry and made
it crack.
"I don't like these clothes. I shall
get my mother's clothes." I told Jerome,
slipping on a silk robe. I sat on the edge
of the bed and closed my eyes. I saw the
castle. The rubble was still there. I looked
through it and found the basement where my
mother's room is. I saw the still open chest.
Closing it, I lifted it with my mind. I
transformed it into black smoke. Floating
out of the rubble, the smoke made its way
to me.
After a few seconds, I sensed a presence
at my feet. I opened my eyes and saw the
beautiful chest. I opened it and searched
through her clothes. I finally found a long,
black skirt with diamonds at the waist.
I plucked a diamond top from amongst the
clothes. It was similar to a human female's-what
is it?-bra top. Stripping off the robe,
I quickly put on my clothes. I found my
sheer, black wrap. I held it up and eyed
it.
"How shall I wear this, Jerome?"
I asked, showing him the wrap. He turned
away from the cracked mirror.
"Like a cloak my dear. Make it hooded."
He replied, stepping to me and grabbing my
shoulders gently. I smiled and went through
the chest again. I found a beautiful brooch.
It was a silver oval. I put on the wrap
and made a hood. Then, I gathered some material
at my neck and clasped the brooch on it.
Perfect. I looked out the window. The sun
was shining brightly. I turned to Jerome.
"Come Jerome," I said, grabbing
his hand, "we shall go play." He
smirked evilly. Just before we went downstairs,
I floated my crown to my head. It plopped
perfectly into place. We glided downstairs.
He went to a closet that was near the stairs.
It was a coat closet. He found a long, black
coat and put it on. We left the premises.
We flew into the air, turning into black
smoke. We glided along. Spreading across
the sky, our beings created dark clouds.
How delicious. A storm's a brewing. We
finally arrived at the city. Touching down
on top of a building, we turned back into
ourselves. I looked up at the sky. It was
darkening quickly. Thunder and lightening
boomed loudly in the distance. I saw people
down on the sidewalks. I heard gasps and
utterances.
"Oh my gosh, Cindy! Look! A storm's
coming!"
"Whoo! It's dark out here!"
"Wait! What's that on top of that building?"
I saw a red-headed woman point up at us.
"HUMAN SCUM! I AM THE MOST POWERFUL
BEING EVER TO BE BORN ON THIS EARTH!"
I shouted, raising my arms. I felt Jerome's
gaze. He also raised his arms.
"WE SHALL RULE THIS PLANET! ALL OF
YOU WILL BE ELIMINATED AND REPLACED BY OUR
SPAWN!" Jerome shouted, laughing maniacally.
Suddenly, lightening cracked the sky and
struck a building. The building collapsed
rapidly, chunks of metal and glass raining
down on the people. They started screaming
and running. I took joy in this. Jerome
and I jumped from the rooftop, gently floating
to the ground.
Landing on the ground, we saw people streaking
past us as more buildings collapsed. Then,
with my power, I summoned demons from above.
These demons were hideous. They had large
gaping mouths, huge wings on their backs,
and sharp claws. They were humanesque.
They swooped down on people, grabbing them
and flying away. As we walked along, I saw
a person lying on the ground. He was bleeding
badly from his side. It appeared to be a
slash from one of the demons.
"H-h-help m-m-me, please." He barely
got out. He raised his hand towards me.
I kneeled on the sidewalk. I bared my teeth,
my fangs coming out. I bit into his side,
chewing at his flesh. He screeched in pain.
Jerome lunged at him and bit at his face
and neck. The man died instantly. We stood,
blood running down our chins. People continued
to run frantically away. More demons came
down and scooped people up. One landed next
to me. I turned and spoke to it.
"Keep taking people. Bring them to
our home." I ordered it. It shrieked
an answer, then flew into the sky. Jerome
and I leapt into the air and hovered over
the city. We surveyed the damage being done.
My demons were causing buildings to collapse.
Lightening cracked across the sky, then struck
a building. It exploded, sending shards
of glass and metal in all directions. I
saw people running away from the debris,
some got slashed and cut up.
"Come Jerome. Let's go home."
I said, turning to Jerome and grabbing his
hand. He smiled at me. We turned into black
smoke again and floated to our mansion.
When we arrived, we became ourselves. Standing
outside, I looked at some plants on the ground.
With my mind, I made them snake and curl
around the house. It feels more homely this
way. Entering our home, we went upstairs
to the ballroom. Torches were in the back
two corners. I lit them. I saw two thrones
sitting at the back of the room. They were
tall and beautiful. Gliding towards them,
we sat down. Jerome's clothes changed.
His shirt changed into a sparkling top.
It had sapphires, rubies, diamonds and other
jewels adorning it. His jeans turned into
big-legged pants. His shoes and socks disappeared,
leaving bare feet. Jewels appeared in their
place. My clothes changed also. A long,
black dress appeared. It had a high collar,
a plunging v-neck, long bell sleeves with
slits, and slits up the front of the skirt.
It felt so soft and smooth against my skin.
I heard a soft sound, like wings flapping.
The door burst open and in flew five demons,
carrying two people each. They dropped the
screeching people on the floor. The demons
stood near the door, like guards at a gate.
I made the prisoners stand up.
"W-where are we?" A black-haired
man stuttered.
"You are in our mansion. You all shall
be our minions." I answered, raising
my hand towards the floor. The floor rose
and swallowed their feet, holding them in
place. They gasped nervously. I stood up
slowly and glanced from person to person.
A smile crept across my face. I shuffled
cautiously up to the first person, a young
man with blond hair and green eyes. He smiled
nervously.
"What are smiling at?" I asked
quietly, stroking his clammy skin.
"I-I-I'm n-n-nervous." He replied,
his eyes darting around.
"You won't be nervous for long."
I assured him. I slashed his neck, blood
gushing out. I went from person to person,
slicing and slashing them in different ways.
Soon, they all were spilling blood on the
floor. I heard the demons licking their
lips.
"Let us feast Jerome." I said,
going up to a woman and biting at her side.
Jerome slid up to a man and bit at his face.
We drank most of the people's blood until
they were slumped over. When we fed, we
injected our essence into them. The demons
fed on the blood that was on the floor.
We sat back in our thrones and watched the
people. Within minutes, a person slowly
stirred and straightened. The man was dazed
and confused. But, he smiled. Just then,
more people stirred and arose. They too
smiled. Their clothing changed into black
outfits. The men and women had long, black
trenchcoats on.
"My Queen. What is our first task?"
A honey-skinned woman asked, grinning eerily.
"Go and convert more people. Put an
image of us into their minds. They shall
all serve me. Now go!" I ordered, waving
my hand at them. The people fluttered through
the door. I looked at Jerome. I smiled.
Meanwhile, the newly converted people were
wreaking havoc. A woman saw someone lying
on the ground. She walked up to him.
"Are you all right?" She asked
softly.
"Come closer." He whispered, his
fangs silently coming down. As she leaned
closer, he bit her neck, putting an image
of Laciva and Jerome into her mind. One
of the vampire women went to her boyfriend's
house. They were sitting on the couch, making
out. As they kissed, her fangs grazed his
bottom lip. He started to pull away but
she gripped him closer. Her fangs pierced
his lip. He shrieked and fought to get away.
But she held fast, sipping his blood. Through
her saliva, the image of her King and Queen
went into her boyfriend. He fainted. The
others went out on the town, going to clubs
and going in stores to find victims. They
did, and it was a success. They found twenty
people.
Back at the mansion, Laciva and Jerome were
sitting in their thrones, watching the demons
fight.
"That's enough! You don't want to lose
your strength when you fly do you?"
They shrieked loudly, standing back up.
I heard my minions coming down the hall.
They came through the door, carrying people.
Dumping them on the floor, they came and
stood behind and beside Jerome and I. The
people started to stir. Then they stood
up abruptly. They looked at us. Their clothes
didn’t change yet. They just stood there,
glancing around.
"What's wrong with them?" I bellowed,
looking to my right at a tall white man.
"I don’t know. The essence from you
was fresh. We got it right off the bat,
my Queen."
"Maybe you should give them your essence,
my love." Jerome suggested, stroking
my hand. I got up and glided towards the
first person I saw.
"Do you fear me?" I asked angrily,
grabbing his head tightly. He just stood
there, shaking.
"DO YOU FEAR ME?" I shouted, squeezing
his head tighter. His head popped in my
grip, leaving blood and brain matter on my
hands. His body slumped to the floor. I
held up my hands, the brain matter dropping
from my palms.
"See what will happen if you don’t change?"
I asked, looking from person to person.
They all backed up slowly. The demons raced
up and stood behind them. I lowered my hands
and lapped up the blood. I slit my wrist
and glided up to a trembling woman. I put
my wrist on her mouth, my blood gushing out.
She fell to the floor, blood dribbling down
her chin.
"Aaaagh! WHY WON'T YOU CHANGE?"
I yelled, shaking the room. My wound slowly
closed. Jerome was next to me. He glared
at the people. I felt him in my mind. Our
link was strong. I communicated with him.
"What shall we do, Jerome? Should we
kill them?"
"It would be best. They're useless.
They're--"
Just then, I felt our link slipping. He
was getting farther and farther away from
me. I looked at Jerome. He looked at me,
puzzled. I whirled around, looking at my
minions. They too were looking at me funny.
"No. Noooo!" I screamed, sinking
to the floor. I lifted my arms, sending
everybody in all directions.
"Kill her!"
"She's a vampire!"
"Get the stakes!"
"Lop off her head!"
"Come on!" Were the shrieks of
everyone. I stood up and flew to the ceiling.
My demons came with me. They hovered around
me. Somebody got up and grabbed a torch.
He threw it up at me. I moved and one of
my demons got hit. He got burnt on his right
arm.
"Aaaaaugh!" I yelled, looking at
my right arm. There was a burn there. It
didn’t heal. Oh no! I'm losing my power!
I reached out towards Jerome. I made him
come up here. But he only got halfway.
Then, he crashed to the floor. I started
to fall. I struggled to keep myself up.
But I floated to the floor like a feather.
Everyone pounced on me. But I forced them
away. I pushed myself up into a standing
position. My demons fell to the floor.
I heard bones cracking. They died. My bones
started to crack, too. I tried to heal myself.
With what little power I had, I healed my
bones and burn. I pivoted and faced someone
with a torch.
"Get away from me! I will kill you!"
I shouted, slashing her throat. She fell
down, the torch setting her on fire. As
she burned, I pushed more people in the fire.
Soon there was a huge bonfire in the middle
of the room. Jerome was back against the
doors. I walked right through the fire.
Not a burn was on me. I slowly walked towards
Jerome. When I got up to him, I grabbed
his neck.
"You will be mine again. When you sleep,
I will be there. Whatever you do, I'll always
be there, my love." I whispered, kissing
him passionately. I transferred my essence
into him. I want him to remember me forever.
The last of my essence flowed into him.
I pulled away and slid backwards. I feel
weak. I can't stand it. A few people were
still around. They forced me into the fire.
I didn't mind. This is how I want to die.
The fire burned around me for awhile. I
finally made one last contact with Jerome.
"Soon I'll come back. I'll come for
you, my sweet. You'll be my King."
He looked at me in the fire. Then, I raised
my arms from my sides. I raised my head
up. The fire burnt me. I let out an ear-piercing
squeal. The people covered their ears.
So did Jerome. Then I turned into ashes.
My form stayed that way. Without warning,
I was dispersed and sucked into that white
spot on the wall. My image was there. Just
how I died. Right underneath my mother.
The fire was gone, too. It must've got sucked
into the wall.
Jerome and the few people that survived walked
to the wall and saw the picture of Laciva.
She was engulfed in flames, her arms raised
and head held high.
"She's beautiful. Who was she?"
Jerome asked, touching the picture.
"I don't know." One of the people
answered. They walked out and back into
their normal lives.
From that day on, Jerome Berry lived a normal
life. The few people and him had no recollection
of what had happened. Neither past nor future.
One night, when Jerome was sleeping, he heard
a faint voice. It was such a sweet voice.
"Jerome. Jeroooome. I still love you."
It was Laciva. He sat up, sweating profusely.
He looked around, and saw her standing near
his window. She was wearing a long veil
over her head and a long black dress. She
lifted her hand. He closed his eyes tight.
When he opened them, Laciva was gone.
"Whoo! Must've been a dream."
He said, laying back down and going to sleep.
Little did he know that outside stood Laciva.
She was looking up at his window. She wore
a long veil and a long black dress! She
walked down the street, laughing to herself.
"Ha, ha, ha. Soon he will be mine.
He'll be my King once again."
