Valentine’s Day
Gouge out my eyes, so I can’t see.
Slit my throat, and let my blood flow.
Replace it with ice water, cuz I’m cold.
I can’t feel love.
Neva
have, neva will.
Chop off my limbs, so I can’t touch.
This day’s for lovers.
Couples, pairs, two.
Not for loners, singles, one.
Cut out my tongue, so I won’t taste love.
Lop off my ears, so I can’t hear “I love
you.”
And last of all, cut out my heart,
Throw it to the ground, watch it smash into
a million pieces.
I’ve no use for it.
Love always skips me.
I’ve no need for love.
Valentine’s Day--for lovers only.
